Following are brief descriptions of the many ministries that are part of our worship services. If you would like to serve in one of our worship ministries, please contact the office.
Youth age 12 and over are a critcal part of our worship. They assist the priest leading the altar party to and from the altar, carrying the cross, by lighting candles, and serving at the altar. Acolytes and Crucifers serve about once a month.
At all services of the Holy Eucharist on Sundays and at other special celebrations, Chalice Bearers assist the clergy by distributing the wine at Communion. They are trained by the Rector and licensed by the Diocese of Delaware to assist in serving communion during worship. Chalice Bearers serve about once each six weeks.
Lectors and intercessors read scripture and prayers during worship services and are scheduled to read about once each six weeks.
Ushers serve by greeting visitors and parishioners Sunday mornings and assisting with seating as needed. They hand out service bulletins, take up the offering, bring forward the Communion elements and assist those wishing to receive communion. They work in teams under the direction of a head usher and serve once each five weeks.
The Choir sings at the 10:30 am Sunday service from mid-September through mid-June and at major feasts during the year. Rehearsals are held on Thursday evenings at 7:30PM and Sunday mornings at 9:30AM. Their repertoire includes anthems, motets and other sacred music ancient and modern. The Choir takes special delight in hearing the congregation sing with them!

Members of the Altar Guild prepare the settings for worship, including preparing the altar for the Eucharist, keeping the holy vessels clean and safe, and maintaining the hangings that drape the pulpit, lecturn and altar at each service. They work in teams and serve once each month.
The Flower Guild is a group of arrangers who prepare the altar flowers for Trinity church and chapel. All volunteers, the arrangers work solo or in pairs throughout the year. For Christmas, the Greens Workshop produces many wonderful arrangements, and the Flower Guild supplements these with designs for the altars and font. For Easter, the arrangers create a display that connotes the spring-time resurrection of the earth, which is a reflection of the resurrection of the Christ. For more information, call Ashlin Bray through the Church office.
Members sign up to bring light refreshments for all to share at coffee hour after worship services.
Two greeters serve each Sunday to greet everyone but pay special attention to those who are new to the parish. Newcomers are welcomed and given as much assistance as they need before and after the service. Greeters serve about six times a year.
This committee helps visitors increase comfort with and deepen their knowledge of Trinity Parish. Members reach out to everyone who completes a visitor's card and hosts a dinner at the conclusion of each Newcomers Class for participants and staff.
